If you are having issue on manually setting up WordPress with 1and1 (1&1) please follow the steps below on how to do it.
1. You will need to access your 1&1 Control Panel and create a MySQL database:
Click on “MySQL Administration” link under Domains and Webspace section.
2. Click on “New Database” button
3. Type in the details for your MySQL database
Note: MySQL database information will be updated within 30 minutes. Once you have clicked on the “Set up” button, you will be prompted with the following information:
Database name : dbxxxxxxxx
Host name : dbxxxxxxxxxx.db.1and1.com
User name : dboxxxxxxxx
Do not forget the password that you have setup on your MySQL database
4.Now that We have created a MySQL database we can now download the WordPress files at WORDPRESS
Note: You will need to unzip the wordpress.zip file and upload the entire folder inside your webspace with 1and1. By default the folder is named as “Wordpress” you will need to rename it then upload the folder which has WordPress files in it.
5. Once you are done on uploading the WordPress files, you will need to point your domain name on the folder that you have uploaded. Please refer on this link so that you would know on how to edit the destination of your domain:

6. Once you are done on pointing the destination of your domain, you will need to wait 10 minutes for the changes to take effect on the server, by that time your MySQL database should be ready,
7. You can now set up wordpress, just type it on your address bar the domain name: example: http://furyhost.com There should be a prompt like “Create a Configuration File” button
8. Click on the “Let’s Go” button
9. You will now need to provide the MySQL username,password,hostname and database name.You can also provide any “Table Prefix” the default Table Prefix is wp_ you can change it to po_ or power_ this will help you be safe for hacking in or do a MySQL injection on your WordPress website.
10. Click on “Run the install” button.
11. Provide the details on your WordPress website, such as the Site Title, username and passsword.
12. You will be redirected to the login page to access your WordPress Dashboard. In WordPress Dashboard it is where you would create a post or page on your WordPress Blog.
